Introduction Mr. President, respected 'ulama, my dear brothers and sisters in Islam, As-Salaamu 'alaikum wa Rahamatullaahi wa Barakaatuhu. First of all, I must congratulate World Islamic Mission Canada for organizing the Third International Milaad-Un-Nabi Conference, [Milaad-e-Mustapha Conference]. My congratulations to the organizers of World Islamic Mission and other organizations which have participated by joining hands with the World Islamic Mission. I congratulate all the organizations in Canada for their participation in the Milaad-un-Nabi Conference and organizing other functions throughout Canada. At the same time, we have to think about the duty of Muslims in Canada towards Islam and the duty of Islam towards you. I would like to say a few words in this regard. As a Muslim, follower of Beloved Prophet Sayyidul ‘Aalameen Muhammadur Rasulullaahi Sallallaahu ‘alaihi aa Sallam, we are participating in this auspicious occasion of the Eid-e-Milaad-Un-Nabi Conference. But at the same time, it is our duty to love him, to respect him and to teach our children how to love the Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.). That is, how to practice Islam in this part of the world.
No punishment because of Prophet(saw) My dear brothers and
sisters in Islam, your duty towards Islam is to participate in this
function. By the same time, I would like to remind you that Islam
is a religion, not your religion. As believers we must remember that
the religion that has existed in this world for more than 1400 years
and we must also remember that our Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.) is the
only Prophet who is living in this world. He is the only Prophet
who is here with you, who is established in Madina al-Munawwarah and
is commanding the Muslims throughout the world. This means he is
here. But, how he is here? Allah (S.W.T.) has said in the Holy
Qur’an about his Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.) and of the pagans of
Makkah about punishment from Allah (S.W.T). Allah (S.W.T) says 'We
are not punishing them'. Why? Allah (S.W.T) says in the Holy Quran:
which means “Oh Prophet (S.A.W.) we are not going to punish them because you are there, you are among them, you are with them, we are not going to punish them". These words of the Holy Qur'an were revealed at the time of Beloved Prophet Sayyidul ‘Aalameen Muhammadur Rasoolulllahi. There was no punishment because he was there. After that there was no punishment. But punishment was given to the ummah of Bani Israeel, the children of Israel. Allah (S.A.W.) had changed their faces. They were punished by allah (S.W.T). The children of Israel, those who were following Jesus, and those who were following Moses. But Allah (S.W.T) has promised in the Holy Qur'an that “We are not giving any punishment to your ummah", even to the pagans of Makkah because you are there Yaa Rasoolallah (S.A.W.). The Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.) is in the city of Madinah, more than 1400 years has passed and he is still there.
The Holy Prophet (saw) is with his ummah Brothers and sisters, can you find any founder of a religion who is still with his ummah (followers)? I have been trying to locate the holy shrine of Lord Buddha. It could not be found in the whole world. No doubt, ‘Gautham Budh’, his place of death and his grave, nobody can find. Likewise, the same for Jesus or Hazrat ‘Isa ‘ala nabiyy-ina wa ‘Alayhissalaatu wa Salaam. Jesus, the founder of Christianity is not here, he is not with his followers. Physically and bodily, Jesus is not here. Lord Buddha is not here. What about Moses, the founder of Judaism? Father of the Jews, Musa (A.S.W), Dawood (A.S.W)? You cannot find their graves in any part of the world. If you ask any person of the whereabouts of the holy shrine of Hazrat Musa (A.W.S.) and Hazrat Yaaqoob (A.W.S), there would be no reply about that. Some say it may be here, some says it may be there, but there is no particular cemetery or grave for Sayyidinaa Musa or Dawood (A.W.S). No founder of any religion exists in this world, except Beloved Prophet Sayyidul ‘Alameen Muhammadur Rasoolullahi (S.A.W.). He is still with the ummah. That is why Allah (S.W.T) says: “Wa maa kaanallahu liyu ‘azzibahun wa anta feehim” (Al-Anfal 8:33) which means Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.) is always attached with his ummah and is always there. Any Muslim from any part of the world, whenever he feels, he can be attached with the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.).
The Door of Mustafa Salalaahu 'alahi wa Sallam Allah (S.W.T) says in the
Holy Qur’an:
Annabiyyu awlaa bilmu ‘mineena min anfusihim wa azwaajuhu
ummahaatuhum The translation is “Annabiyyu”, the Prophet Muhammadur Rasoolullaahi (S.A.W.) is closer, “awlaa”, the Prophet is closer to the believer. What is the distance between the ummah and the Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.)? Allah (S.W.T) says: “The Prophet is closer to the believers than their own selves.” Prophet Sayyidul ‘Alalameena Muhammadur Rasoolullaahi (S.A.W.) is closer to all the believers, regardless where they reside - in any part of the world, East or West, North or South. For all Muslims, followers of Rasoolullaahi (S.A.W.), the Prophet is closer to them than their own selves. This is the status of the Prophet, he is very close to you and because he is very close to you, so you must also be very close to him. How can you be close to him? Allah (S.W.T) says: Yaa ayyuhalladheena 'amanu sallu ‘alahi wa sallimu tasleema (Al-Ahzaab 33:56). [Allahumma salli ‘alaa aalihi wa Sahbihi Wa sallim] If you want to be close, very close, closer to him than your own self, how is this possible? Only by the recitation of darood shareef. To recite darood when you recite salat, allows you to love Rasoolullaah (S.A.W.). Now our duty is to love him. Why should we love him? Because he is our Master. Why should we love him? Because through him we came to know there is a God, there is Allah whom we have to worship. Without the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) we could not know Him. When we reached the Door of the Holy Prophet, we came to know that there is Allah, we came to know that the salat (namaz) is fard (obligatory), five times prayer is obligatory. When we approached the door, when we reached the door, we came to know that fasting is obligatory in the month of Ramadan. When we reached the door, we came to know that Haj is obligatory once in a lifetime, if a person can afford it. When we reached the door, Allah’s (S.W.T) revelation in the shape of the Holy Qur’an was given to him. When we reached there we came to know the Holy Qur’an in the shape of blessings of Allah, “Kalaamullahi ‘Az-zawajal”. When we reached there we received salat, the virtues of salat, the virtues of Haj, zakaat, sawm in Ramadan (fastings in the Holy month of Ramadan). When we reached there, we received the Blessings of Allah (S.W.T) because he is Mercy to all mankind. He is the center of The Mercy of Allah (S.W.T). The Mercy of Allah (S.W.T) came through the personality of the Holy Prophet Muhammadur Rasoolullaahi (S.A.W.). Through the Mercy of Allah (S.W.T) we received the Blessings of Allah; that is, when we reached the Door of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). On this occasion, we must remember the Beloved Prophet Sayyidul ‘Aalameena Muhammadur Rasoolullaahi (S.A.W.). We have to love him more than our children, more than our wives, more than our family members. We have to love him because everything which we have, especially the favours of Allah (S.A.W.), Blessings of Allah (S.W.T) is because of the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). So we have to love him. Ummul Mu’mineen Sayyidina Aisha Siddeqa (R.A), the wife of the Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.) has reported that when the Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.), after midnight was praying salaatul-Layl (salaatul Tahajjud), Allah (S.W.T) has mentioned salaatul Tahajjud in the Holy Qur’aan, it is a very special prayer. This prayer was obligatory on the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). We have to offer five times obligatory prayers. And Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) had to offer six times prayer and the sixth one was the Tahajjud prayer. So he used to stand up for that. Ummul Mu’mineen Sayyidina Aisha Siddqqqu (R.A.) has reported that when the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) stood up for prayer, he used to make sajda for hours and at times she would think that he had died. But afterwards, when he would raise his head, asking dua from Allah (S.W.T) after midnight, early in the morning, asking dua for his ummah “Yaa Rab irham ummatee, Yaa Rab ighfir ummatee” (Oh Allah forgive my Ummah.) During the night time, he was not asking prayer for himself. For himself there is no need to ask anything because he was the Chosen of Allah (S.A.W.) “ljtabaahullah, ljtabaahu”. Allah(S.W.T) has chosen him to be superior to all the Prophets and after appointing him superior to all Prophets, Allah (S.W.T) has blessed him. There is none superior to him among the creation of Allah (S.W.T). Allah (S.W.T) has appointed him for this purpose. When he was asking forgiveness for his ummah, no doubt his prayers are accepted. Similarly, when he was asking dua, for his ummah, then the duty of the ummah is to love him, and at the same time, devote your life on what Prophet (S.A.W.) has said. You have to devote your life to him. Duty of a Muslim
As a Muslim, it is our duty to protect and to defend
Islam. These are two important words. Brothers and sisters in
Islam, you will now receive the message of this conference. The
Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.) loves you, just look at how during the
night he stood up asking forgiveness for you from Allah (S.W.T).
And what is your duty? Your duty is to protect the religion of
Islam which has been delivered to you by Beloved Prophet Sayyidul
‘Aalameen Muhammadur Rasoolullaahi (S.A.W.) and remember my dear
brothers and sisters, if you protect Islam in this country, not only
in this country, but throughout the world, wherever you go, wherever
you stay, whether you are going to stay here permanently or not,
Allah knows better. But remember that your duty is to protect
Islam, to protect the din, to protect the Qur’an, to protect
the teachings of Allah (S.W.T), the teachings of Beloved Prophet
Sayyidul ‘Aalameen Muhammadur Rasoolullaahi (S.A.W.). As an example, there was a lady who was preparing food with her baby in her arm with the fire close by. At the same time the lady heard the mu’adhin calling the adhan from the masjid. Immediately, she left the baby there and stood up for salat. When she was offering her salat, she heard a voice saying “you are not looking after your baby”. Shaitaan was trying to interrupt her. After completing her salaat she could not see her baby and she was shocked. There was the baby playing with the fire. She was surprised. A voice came from the angels saying: “You were protecting your salat, you were protecting what is obligatory, you were fulfilling the duties of Allah (S.W.T) and Allah (S.W.T) was protecting your child. So Allah (S.W.T) in the Qur’an says: Intansurullaha Yansurkum Wa Yuthabbit Aqdaamakum If you become supportive of your true religion - Islam, then Allah (S.W.T) will protect you. Islam therefore has to be defended. Now brothers and sisters, if you try to visit the mosque regularly people start saying: “there goes a fundamentalist”. If our sister in Islam covers her head and is going to the mosque she is seen as a fundamentalist. You have and I have seen the Jews and Christian going to the Church, with their heads also covered, but no one calls them fundamentalists. When Muslim boys wear the cap, immediately they are seen as fundamentalists. Our sisters have been called fundamentalists, and now our brothers are also being called fundamentalist. When the Jewish men, women and children go to the synagogue wearing small caps, covering their heads, nobody calls them fundamentalists. Why are Muslims called fundamentalists? We have in our religion a foundation and we believe in the fundamentals of Islam. We believe in the “Ashadu anlaa Ilaaha Illallah Wa Ashhadu anna Muhammadan Abduhu Wa Rasooluh”. This is our foundation; we believe in five times prayer, we believe in fasting during the Holy month of Ramadan, this is our foundation. The Beloved Prophet sayyidul ‘Aalameen Muhammadur Rasoolullaahi (S.A.W.) has said: Buniyal Islaamu ‘alaa Khamsin. The foundation of Islam are the five Pillars: shahaadah, salat, sawm, zakaat and haj. These are the fundamentals of Islam. So if a Muslim says “I am not a fundamentalist", what exactly does he mean by that? You must say proudly that, “Yes, since my faith has a foundation, so I am a fundamentalist”. You (non-muslims) have no foundation, so you cannot be fundamentalists. They (non-muslims) have no foundation. My Prophet, the founder of the religion of Islam is there in Madina al-Munawwarah. And no other Prophet in this world is existing. So, al-hamdu-lillaah, my religion, my faith is correct. So therefore, I am proud to be a Muslim.
Proud to be Muslim - The Message of Milaad-un-NabiWhy is it that you are scared by the enemies of Islam? The main reason is that you, the ummah al-Islaamiyya, have divided yourselves. There are some persons among you, who are proud they are Pakistanis, there are some who are proud they are Arabs, there are some persons who are proud they are Somalis, there are some persons from India and they are proud to be Indians. But I am proud that I am Muslim. This is my identity. If you are living in this country, you have to live with the identity of Islam. If you protect Islam, Allah (S.W.T) will protect you.
The colour of our skin makes no difference. You see there are some
Muslims, white Muslims, living in European countries, what is
happening to them? You know very well. Our Muslim borthers in
Bosnia, our Muslim brothers in Albania, they are white, but what is
happening to them, you know very well. There is no need to mention
what massacres are taking place in Bosnia. There is no need to
mention how Muslim women are being raped. There is not need to
mention this. But the point is that; if you protect yourself and
your children, Allah will protect you. How is it possible?
Allah(S.W.T) says:
Wa man ahsanu Qawlam mimman Da’aa Ilallaahi wa 'amil saalihan wa
qalaa This is my identity, I am Muslim. I am proud that I am Muslim. From this verse, we see that you have to be proud that you are a Muslim. Your nationality is secondary. You can be a Muslim from Pakistan or a Muslim from India. There is no need to worship the nationality of Pakistan or India. There is no need to worship the Arab nationality. These are only there for introduction purposes. Your identity is that you are a follower of Rasoolullaah (S.A.W.), as belonging to his ummah. This is the message of Milaad-un-Nabi (S.A.W.) You know the story of Hazrat Bilaal Habashi. Also, Abu Jahal was there. But who was closer to Beloved Prophet Sayyidul ‘Aalameen Muhammadur Rasoolullaahi (S.A.W.)? Bilaal from Habash, from the horn of Africa, was a black person, but very close to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.). And what was the distance between Abu Jahal and Abu Lahab to the Holy Prophet? Abu Jahal was Arab, Abu Lahab also Arab, speaking the Arabic language, they were born in the same city that the Beloved Prophet (S.A.W.) was born in, but Bilaal Habashi (R.A) was very close to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.) and we know afterwards what became of Abu Jahal? So to say that only people who speak our language are our brothers is the wrong concept in Islam. To believe that Mr. so and so from the Arab Peninsula or Mr. so and so from Pakistan is a pious person is wrong. A pious person is a Muslim who, irrespective of language or country of origin, has the fear of Allah (S.W.T) in his heart. Sayyidina Bilaal (R.A); we call him “Sayyidina” because it means master. Sayyidina Umar (R.A) he is from Arabia, he is an Arabic speaking person. Umar (R.A) from Makkat-ul-Mukarrama is very close to the Holy Prophet (S.A.W.), but he used to say with pride, whenever he was asked: “Bilaalun huwa sayyiduna”. Is Bilaal our Master? Umar (R.A) said, "Bilaal is our master". The Prophet (S.A.W.) came to destroy all of these barriers and discriminations. There is no national discrimination in Islam.
My dear brothers and sisters in Islam, if you have chosen t live in
this country, live as a Muslims and die as a Muslim. Your identity
is Islam like your Master is The Beloved Prophet Sayyidul ‘Aalameen
Muhammadur Rassolullaahi (S.A.W.). Allah(S.W.T) says in the Holy
Qur’an:
Yaa ayyuhal-ladhina 'amanu taqullaaha, Haqqa tuquaatihi wa laa
tamutunna Oh believers, fear Allah and die not except in the state of Islam. May Allah (S.W.T) shower His Choiciest Blessings on you all and gives us Strength to protect Islam, our faith, our din, the final religion.
