The first Jama Masjid in Netherlands was built in 1981 by Muslims of Suriname who settled in Holland. The Taibai Jama Masjid is an integral part of World Islamic Mission, Netherlands and has been the main centre of Ahl Sunna wal Jammah in Holland. Its foundation was laid by Qaid-e-Ahl Sunna Hazrat Maulana Shah Ahmad Noorani Siddiqui al-Qadiri Rahmatullah 'alaih in 1981.

The original Masjid Taibah has been a centre for Ahl Sunna wal Jamaah and the revival of Islam in Europe since the early 1980's
